About Me I'm shy, but it isn't an act; I really like being the sweetie that you say I am. I write because it's the only way I know how to say these things. My love lies in poetry, but everyone says my fiction is better. My parents f---ed me up pretty badly, but the universe made up for it by giving me my siblings. Not a day goes by that I'm not thankful for every moment that we have together. My brother, sister and I transcend all the traditional roles--from siblings, to protectors, to best friends--and accept each other despite our age and gender differences. They know my every secret, every fault, every hurt. I can act like a lunatic, or cry in front of them, and know that they will never judge me or let me down, like other people in my life have. I would do anything for them--even give up my childhood. I'm double-majoring in Creative Writing and Women's Studies at Knox, where the other half of my heart calls home. Knox has helped me grow tremendously as a person and I love absolutely everyone there--especially my adorable suitemates. Nonetheless, there are some days when I wish I could merge my favorite aspects of Winona and Knox into one. I do appreciate the little things. So leave me a message while you're here darling.

    Pagan Tomb Video

    Thursday, May 17, 2007, 02:15 AM [General]

    http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/06/060630-ireland-video.html

I encourage everyone to watch this video; it's absolutely gorgeous in the way it's narrated. Especially for those of us who don't have the funds to visit the ancient tombs, it's an experience worth sharing, since you do feel part of a legacy while exploring this tomb and ritual site.

I always want to shout out that the "neolithic farming community" were Pagans, as we all know here, but it seems it even took historians 5,000 years to realize that the Winter Solstice was important to ancient architecture. We already have an idea of what happened in these buildings!

I also feel a sense of pride while watching this video; it astounds me that they were so insightful and so close to nature, and also so dedicated to the Gods that one generation after another kept working until the finish of this Pagan sanctuary.

Just some thoughts. Let me know yours!

    Intro of Amarissa

    Hi everyone,

I'm Amarissa Vanora, a soon-to-be 19 year-old attending Knox College and majoring in Creative Writing and Women's Studies. I've been Pagan for about 3 years now, and am Dianic in specifics. I'd love to meet other people and learn about their paths, and help others to learn about the Dianic path as well. If you're interested, I run PagansSafeHouse, a Yahoo group for beginners to Paganism.

I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for the comment. I've heard of Knox, I considered going there. I LOVE Chicago and will be sad to leave, but I'm moving to go to a school that has a great program for what I'm studying. Plus it's nice to broaden your horizons. Anyway, hope to talk to you again.
